The Steading Reviews

The cottage was excellent along with the location. Really was one of the best cottages we have stayed in with Sykes as there was nothing that could remotely be unhappy with. The cottage is really well fitted out we loved the stag in the highlands painting in the lounge with a patio either side so you can enjoy coffee in the morning in the sun it was good weather for April and a cold wine or beer on the other patio after being out and about Loads of places to go walking either in the hills or along beautiful quiet sandy beaches. We would recommend this cottage wholeheartedly and may well be back ourselves to finish off the area as we couldnt fit everything to seven days.

This is our second visit to The Steading and definitely won't be the last! The fit and finish of the cottage is very high quality and second to none. It is warm and very comfortable! It is spotlessly clean inside and outside of the property, beds very comfortable and there is everything you could need. The welcome pack is a lovely addition! The owner is lovely and we had good communication throughout the stay. Really didn't want to leave and we will be definitely be back!
Christopher
Fantastic property in beautiful location renovated and decorated to a very high standard. The beds were a bit too firm for our liking and the kitchen island does not make the most comfortable dining table but these are small issues. We loved the hot tub and had a very enjoyable stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated.
Absolutely stunning property in a beautiful and peaceful location. The cottage has been finished to a very high standard in every detail. The owners have created a really luxurious experience everything that is needed to enjoy a relaxing break is provided including Denby crockery, luxury hand soaps and a thoughtful welcome food and wine package. The hot tub cabin is the perfect topstone for relaxation on another level whatever the weather is doing! We loved every minute of the time in the cottage and will certainly be back.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. There was everything you needed and so much more. The welcome pack was an unexpected bonus. Would definitely recommend a stay at this cottage and the hot tub was definitely a bonus at the end of the day
Still a little bit of heaven in the Highlands! A week still isn't long enough but The Steading is still amazing in a stunning location.
The best that we have stayed in and we have stayed in loads of cottages. Super facilities, beautifully clean, comfortable beds and plenty of wood for the fire. Build by the owner to a very high standard and maintained beautifully. No detail is too small which is lovely. The cottage has everything that you need for a nice relaxed holiday. l Loads of local information and maps for getting out and about have been provided. Beautiful walks right on the doorstep and friendly locals who are happy to chat. All in all the perfect escape from a busy life, we would highly recommend. As many others have said, we will be back and a week isnt enough in this little gem.
Beautiful bungalow in a beautiful location. Very clean and extremely well equipped. The owners went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best Christmas possible, even providing us with a festive hamper on arrival which added an extra special touch!
Amanda

An absolutely beautiful property with all the creature comforts you need. Spotless and well presented. Located in a quiet little town, the feeling of isolation was just what we needed. Beautiful walks all around the area and a short drive to many local attraction. We will definitely be back

Lovely peaceful location with red deer in the fields next to the property. Everything is newly refurbished and everything you might need for a stay is provided. Owners even left wine and biscuits to wlcome us. Very scenic part of Scotland with an easy drive to the coastal resorts of Dornoch, Golspie and Brora.
Andrew
Property was absolutely immaculate and stunning. Essentials were there for us arriving, bread, milk, eggs and even a bottle of champagne. The cottage was everything posted and more. Could not recommend it enough and will definitely be back.
Property was first class with quality workmanship and a complete joy. Very minor point was around directions to location, maybe the use of what three words would be helpful. skips.recount.subsystem

We had a wonderful stay at The Steading the property was immaculately maintained, with a very wellequipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need for a week's stay. Lots of parking, a lovely warm bubbly hot tub, beautiful smelling handsoap in the bathrooms and a welcome basket of goodies on arrival. We look forward to hopefully returning!
Very remote but loved every minute of it view's a bonus
Great cottage, great facilities. Good location for visiting locations on the NC500 or if your wanting to get away from it all.

Property was lovely! Very clean, well presented and overall a fantastic place. I was super impressed with the amount of kitchen utensils as well, as many places you go to on holiday, don't often have everything that you might need. The hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day and although there was not a lot of places to visit townsshops etc around the property, there was plenty of places a very short drive away. We visited a couple of places reccomended to us by the owners, such us the The Pier in Lairg and we were not disappointed. The only thing we were a little disappointed about was the fact that one morning, we didn't seem to have any hot water left for one of our part to have a shower, and we couldn't figure out how to change that, but that did not take away from our overall review. We all loved our stay here and would definitely be back again. Maybe we will back next year!
Excellent, well equipped stylish property. Hot tub available in covered area, beautifully done. Lovely quiet location, couldnt have been better. We would happily return for another stay.
