By Car

To reach Falls Cottage by car, take the A87 Portree to Uig road. Look for the turning just before the main entrance to Kingsburgh community forest. If you reach the bridge over River Hinnisdal, you've gone too far.

By Train

For those traveling by rail, you'll need to take a train to Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland, then catch a bus or taxi across the Skye Bridge to reach the island. From there, it's about a 45-minute drive to the cottage.

The cottage was lovely everything you could possibly want, home baking left and a fruit bowl, lots of extras, even a small bottle of fizz and a beer to enjoy on our first night, the owners were fantastic and good to talk to, even providing a washing line because the weather was so good , beautiful views over to the water and we just enjoyed sitting and looking out across fabulous countryside, and listening to the birds, great place to stay.

Falls Cottage is easy to find next to the A87 Portree to Uig road. The lefthand turning into the drive is just before the main entrance to the Kingsburgh community forest on the right. If you reach the bridge over the river Hinnisdal, youve just passed the property. There is plenty of parking by the property. The cottage is comfortable, clean, cosy and warm. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need including a tea towel, hand towel, dish cloth, pan scrubber and oven gloves. The fridge and freezer are under the counter size. The owners provide a nice welcome pack which includes some home baking of delicious scones, rock cakes etc. There are dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, washingup liquid, hand wash, tea, coffee, sugar, toilet rolls and shower gel provided. There is plenty of hot water. Very comfortable bed and excellent shower in the room we used. It was so restful going to sleep listening to the river. The bedding is good quality and lovely soft towels. The friendly owners next door quickly sorted out a couple of small problems we had. We were lucky to have some lovely weather whilst on Skye to explore the island. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at this lovely property and would recommend it to anyone wanting a holiday on Skye.

What a wonderful cottage equalled only by the hosts, Maggie and Roddy, who manage to be both welcoming and unobtrusive all at the same time. We found the cottage to be one of the most well equipped and well furnished that we've stayed in. It is ideally situated to explore the north and west of the island and with views of the nearby sea loch to admire when you wake up staying here felt a real privilege!

From the moment we arrived at Falls Cottage. ...everything was perfect, and this includes the gorgeous homemade scones and rock cakes. Falls Cottage is ideally located to see all the sights in Skye, its also comfortable, cosy, has everything you would need during uiur stay and above all is spotlessly clean. The owners, Maggie & Robbie, live next door. However, you don't see them unless you knock on their door but I'd recommend you do as they are lovely people. We had a fantastic week on Skye and wholeheartedly recommend Falls Cottage.

We had a lovely time in Skye, thank you for the hospitality. The welcome gifts and homebaking were gratefully received. The cottage catered for all including our dog and easily accommodated four people. The whole cottage was very comfortable and a good night's sleep was had after a busy day exploring the island. The cottage has everything you need to live comfortably for a week. There is so much to see and do with so many hidden gems you could spend a fortnight and still run out of time to see everything you would like. We'll just have to come back again. The cottage is well situated for exploring Trotternish and Waternish in particular. If you enjoy walking, hiking or hill walking then it's ideal. Good early morning dog walk in the forest opposite.

It was like coming home. The warm welcome from Maggie and Roddy was matched by our delight in seeing them again for our second 'Falls Cottage Spectacular'. We were not let down. There were also delicious treats waiting for us to help us start enjoying and relaxing from the start and the beautiful and immaculate Cottage. The weather was 'cracking the hedges' and so a very different experience from last October. If you want an excellent location for the Isle of Skye with comfort to the highest level thrown in, look no further than this wonderful Cottage.

Waine, York Sept 2022 This cottage is fabulous ,with lovely views and is beautifully appointed . Downstairs the lounge and kitchen are very comfortable and well equipped and furnished even a stair gate . The sofas also have foot rests so nice ! The bedrooms are large & luxurious with large ensuite bathrooms with very large walk in showers . Both bedrooms have very comfortable Queen size beds never found a cottage with beds this size before ! The hosts are very friendly and have thought about every detail we really enjoyed the treats when we arrived Prosecco Skye Beer milk and bread plus more so kind . The home baking was a lovely surprise after a long day out . The outdoor seating area is a lovely place to enjoy the views and we did as the weather was glorious all week !.The cottage was ideally placed for exploring theTrotternish Duirinish and Waternish peninsulas with ease and also the Isle Of Oronsay .Hopefully we will be back one day

We had such a lovely time in Falls cottage. The property is lovely and in a great location to get around Skye. It was lovely to come back to Falls cottage at the end of a busy day and Maggie and Roddy were great hosts who made us feel very welcome. Falls Cottage was a real find. A highspec, warm and comfortable cottage which comes with incredible views, and is a short drive away from Portree and all the sights of the Trotternish Peninsula. The bedrooms were incredible, the bathrooms were luxurious and the kitchen had everything we needed.

My husband and I were privileged to be the first guests at Falls Cottage in Skye and we couldnt recommend the accommodation more highly. The cottage was in a stunning location with lovely walks from the accommodation itself. The cottage was really cosy, comfortable and beautifully equipped with beautiful views. The overall facilities and equipment in the kitchen were outstanding and a real home from home. Maggie had thoughtfully provided us with basic supplies such as bread, milk, butter, eggs, fruit as well as freshly baked scones and shortbread. She even kept us supplied with home baking throughout the whole week.
