Easter Urray Farmhouse Reviews

This is our 2nd year staying here and hopefully well be back next year, love it
Great home in a beautiful location
Easter Urray Farmhouse is a beautiful, spacious property, and its large downstairs bedroom with ensuite bathroom makes it an ideal choice for those with elderly or disabled people in their group. It is wellequipped and the quiet location is relaxing, while being within easy reach of The Black Isle, Inverness, Loch Ness, and surrounding areas. The owners are very helpful, which makes the whole place even more welcoming. We highly recommend the cottage for a peaceful getaway.

Had a really nice stay plenty of room comfy beds some furnishings a little dated eg kitchen chairs but all in all met our needs would definitely stay again we had our son who is a wheelchair user and we were able to get him all around the ground floor and down stairs large bedroom was perfect for us. Having 4 large areas for our other two boys who have learning difficulties to set up there game console to keep them occupied wifi was very good would recommend
Alison
Super cottage. It was very comfortable and was well kitted out. Tastefully decorated and in a super location.
Michael
Perfect holiday home, great facilities, and loved the under floor heating.
We were impressed with the facilities in the farmhouse. The owner was also really nice he invited us to help ourselves to the plums and apples in the garden delicious. When the kettle packed in, he provided a replacement in an hour. Great service. The only drawback was the lack of high power chargers in the area for my electric car. Twice I had to drive into Inverness to charge up.
Gordon
Great property. Very high standard and very spacious. Location is very quiet but within easy reach of many places to visit.
Lovely house in a beautiful quiet location. The weather was kind which always helps but we could not find fault with either the house or the location & would happily return in the future.
This property has a superb location and was exactly as described. The outside of the property gave no indication of the quality inside which was excellent. The farmer on site Tom was easy to get along with and nothing was too much trouble. We had a few issues with the heating system including the non working shower in one of the bedrooms which required a plumber to investigate and sort out for us which was satisfactorily resolved quickly. Some points of constructive comment follow. 1. There is no mirror in the twin bed room upstairs this would have been nice especially as this room had no ensuite and the bathroom was on the other side of the landing. 2. Two of the ventilation fans in the en suites downstairs bedroom and upstairs double room were not working. 3. The range oven clearly had a thermostat problem as whatever temperature it was set at for the main oven, it was recording 40degrees below we tested a range of temperatures from 100 degrees to 230 degrees and found this to be the case. Cooking chicken in this oven would have been a no no. 4. The statement on the booking site that electric vehicles cannot be charged on site needs to be altered. It should, in my opinion, read the electricity charges for the house rental do not include those for EV charging. The costs for this will require to be paid in addition. EVs can be charged by mains cable obviously albeit slowly overnight but perhaps with the ever increasing use of EVs, the house needs to be brought up to date. 5. An outside tap and hose would have been nice for car washing as the long main drive to the house is extremely dusty in dry weather and for owners who prefer to keep their cars clean, this would have been a welcome addition to the facilities. We did have an excellent stay in this house albeit with a few issues and if what I have mentioned above got looked at and sorted, I would have awarded 5 stars.
Plenty room for our big family. Great location and secure garden. Tom was approachable and helpful, thank you.
Alister
Yes absolutely amazing experience. The farmhouse was fantastic. The best I have ever stayed. Ali Henderson

We had a great stay at Easter Urray. The house is fantastic, with plenty of spaces to have the whole group together it was comfy and clean too. We were surprised by how wellequipped the kitchen was everything from a Magimix to soup cauldrons and coffee machines, and there was plenty of space in the fridge and boot room for all our food. The underfloor heating was wonderful so we didn't need the stoves at all, even though it was below freezing outside, and there was plenty hot water. I'd love to go back!
Sheona
A lovely farmhouse with plenty room for 6 of us and 2 dogs. Beautiful surroundings and a huge garden where the 2 boys furry ones!! Could charge around and wear themselves out. B
Wonderful, comfortable house but it would gave been helpful to have a welcome pack with written instructions re heating. Apart from that all fab!
Spent a wonderful week here with our family 6 adults and 4 young children Easter Urray had everything we required for our holiday. The outside space was fantastic for the children big and small to burn off some energy. It was great to have ensuite shower rooms for the 3 adult bedrooms and shared bathroom and downstairs toilet were useful as well. The kitchen was very well equipped with a large larder cupboard containing everything we needed and more. Quiet setting surrounded by countryside.
Great farmhouse , very well equipped and comfortable . Very good for large family groups . Very quiet setting , comfortable beds , good en suite showers and large separate bathroom Well located for salmon fishing on the Conon

This property was absolutely perfect for our group of 9, mostly couples. So much room, an ensuite in 3 of the bedrooms was huge for us. The extra spaces in the house allowed all of us to do different things at the same time, not be on top of each otherthe outdoors was beautiful, it was fun to have wildlife and farm animals in the surroundings as part of our family adventure. The fabulous Chess board was a bonus! Tom was friendly and very reasonable. You have a beautiful country home, thanks for sharing.
Fantastic family house perfect fir Christmas
A little difficult to locate. Very comfortable, warm and plenty of hot water. Kitchen very well equipped. Very quiet surroundings, beautiful walks nearby. Shame the local pub now closed.

A lovely house is a lovely setting . We come to Scotland every year , and it is one of the best we have stayed in . We were very comfortable and never cold . The stoves were a great bonus although it wasn't really that cold outside .A great garden for the dogs . Cant praise the whole experience enough . Will be back . It was a wonderful holiday Zelinda Adam
The farmhouse was very well equipped and comfortable . The showers and baths were clean with of the range appliances and lots of hot water . Well located for fishing the Brahan beats on the Conon . Huge internal space , much larger than it looks from the outside . Furnished with quality antiques Have booked again which reflects our feedback
Really cant fault the house or location on any level, it was simply superb. We had two cocker spaniels with us who could play happily running round the outside if the house in constant loops! The house and facilities were superb, everything we needed was there, right down to fresh fruit hanging in the trees in the garden. This house is a real treasure! The location was remote and exactly what we were looking for. Already looking at dates to book it again. The day we left l stopped in Muir of Ord at the florists and bought up half the shop window which wasnt actually for sale but they very graciously sold me anyway
Mandeep
It was a amazing cottage with all the facilities provided to give us a relaxing, peaceful holiday. Definitely recommend family and friends who are fascinated to have a beautiful country side holiday. This cottage is the one to look for
A very good cottage to spend time with our family. There was plenty of space and it was in a good quiet location.

My sisters, brother and I had a fabulous time at Easter Urray. We loved its cosy lived in look and the eclectic furnishings, it was perfect for a week of relaxation . Tom and his partner were very friendly and accommodating . I would definitely book again and recommend the cottage to friends.
Jessica
Elegant large cottage tastefully decorated and furnished offering total comfort set in its own large grounds. It is adjacent to a farm and the owner was very welcoming. He had left wine and a selection of cheese milk and crackers in the house. His delightful twin sons showed me and my grandchildren round the farm and they got to bottle feed a pet lamb which was a great experience for them. Lots to do in the area as close to Inverness. Some of the group climber a nearby Munro, we did a boat trip on Loch Ness and visited Dromarty. We will definitely consider returning.
Kirsty
Easter Urray was a beautiful, well maintained house which was lovely & peaceful. The garden area was great for the kids & our dog.
Michael
Very comfortable and spacious farmhouse in a quiet location approx 2 miles from Muir of Ord. The farmhouse is situated in its own ground within a busy working farm however the work is not obtrusive and in fact adds to the overall experience. Nearby are many forest walks and other attractions and with easy access to shopping quality local produce is assured. The farmhouse is well maintained and kitted out. With such a large kitchen dining area its superb for a large family gathering and proved to be our favourite space. Our sincere thanks to Tom and Donna for the welcome pack and, despite being incredibly busy with the lambing season, for looking after us in such a friendly manner throughout our stay.
My family and I booked this property to celebrate a 30th birthday of a family friend, we live only 20 minutes away and needed to be nearby as we all have animals that need daily attention, so we had a stacation. Easter Urray was everything we had hoped for and more, as a very keen cook the kitchen and the larder were very well equipped and once I got the hang of the gas hob we got on fine, the enormous utility room was great for the dog and all our outdoor things. The kitchen was ideal for cosy family suppers and for our more formal dinners the dining room was perfect. One of our guests summed it up perfectly grand but cosy. The house was so warm on arrival that we had to turn the underfloor heating down as the weather was mild, loved the wood burning stoves, we all live in the country but found it very peaceful and great for all ages. I loved it so much, that I really did not want to leave, I have hired many properties over the years and have to say that this was most definitely my favourite and we will be back, the owner was helpful and met us on arrival, we knew if we needed anything he was there but he respected our privacy which was appreciated. A property.
Recently returned from spending a fantastic Christmas at this property. The house is amazing, the pictures really don't do it justice. The property exceeded our expectations, 10 of us stayed and there was still plenty of room. Its setting is amazing, located near plenty of beautiful walks, and the town is only 2 minutes away in car if you really need it. Tom the owner was really helpful, on hand if you needed anything at all, but left you be if you didn't. If we had one gripe it would be that one of the sofa's in the lounge has had its day, but that is literally the only issue we had, and believe me it's a tiny issue. Will definitely be returning!
Lesley
Great property, in a good location, lots of woodland walks for the dogs to enjoy. Garden very dog friendly. Owner on hand if you need anything, wine, cheese and crackers were a lovely thought
Sykes Cottages service was friendly, easy to use, accessible and professional. Thank you The house at Easter Urray was fabulous with the owners not far away and happy to help with the smallest query. Wonderful weekend
We had a lovely family vacation in a comfortable and cozy home. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and also helpful and attentive whenever we needed anything.
Roisin
The cottage was beautiful and really well stocked the kitchen had all the amenities any party of up to 10 people would need. The cottage was in a fantastic location for exploring the highlands and we did some breathtaking walks along the cost. Tom the host was really helpful, but we were also left to our own devices for the weekend. Thank you for such a lovely stay we would definitely come again.
Christopher
Sometimes with words less is more and all I can say is the cottage is beautiful and made our wedding perfect. The owner was close and was such a host making sure we were all well. Extremely friendly and helpful with some special welcoming extras. Couldn't recommend more highly.
Teresa
